What size is A4 on FreePrints?

It isn’t. FreePrints’ own “what do I pay for” list, re-read on 7 October 2026, goes Wallet, 5x5, 7x5, 8x6, 10x8, 12x8, then the posters 15x10, 18x12, 36x24 and 40x30. There is no A4 line.

A4 is 210×297mm, about 8.27×11.69 inches. A FreePrints 12x8 is 30×20cm, about 11.8×7.9 inches: wider than A4 and shorter, so an A4 frame will not take it. If you need a sheet that fits an A4 frame, order true A4 from Tesco or ASDA. Both are Max Spielmann and both say A4 from £9, ready to collect in about an hour.

The two free sizes

  • 6x4" / 15×10cm on FreePrints (45 a month, one per photo) and the Snapfish UK app (50 a month).
  • 5.3x4" on Snapfish only, inside the same 50. It is 4:3, so a phone photo is not cropped. FreePrints has no equivalent free size.

Phone photos are 4:3 and 6x4 is 3:2, so a 6x4 trims about 5.6% off the top and the bottom. See it on your own picture with the crop checker, or order 8x6 (paid, exactly 4:3) when the edges matter.

Wallet, retro and the rest

FreePrints sells Wallet as a paid size and does not print the dimensions on the website. It is the small print for a purse or a locket, and the price appears in the app when you tap it. Retro is a bordered style, also paid. Our price comparison covers 6x4 up to A4 and says “in app” wherever a lab hides the figure.

Questions

What size is A4 on FreePrints?

FreePrints does not sell A4. The nearest size is 12x8 inches (30x20cm), which is a paid print, not part of the 45 free 6x4s. A true A4 sheet is 29.7x21cm. Tesco and ASDA (Max Spielmann) sell that, from £9.

What sizes are actually free?

Only standard 6x4s: 45 a month on FreePrints, and 50 a month on the Snapfish UK app. Snapfish also lets those 50 be 5.3x4, which fits phone photos. Every other size is paid.

What size is a FreePrints wallet print?

Wallet is a paid FreePrints size, smaller than 6x4, for purses and lockets. FreePrints does not publish the dimensions or the price on its website. Both appear when you select Wallet in the app.

Will a phone photo fit a 6x4?

Not without a crop. Phone cameras shoot 4:3 and a 6x4 is 3:2, so about 11% of the photo is cut, usually the top and bottom. Use 8x6, or Snapfish’s 5.3x4 best fit, if you need the whole frame. The crop checker shows it on your own photo.

What sizes does FreePrints sell besides 6x4?

Paid: Wallet, retro, 5x5, 7x5, 8x6, 10x8, 12x8, then posters at 15x10, 18x12, 36x24 and 40x30. Gloss or matt up to 12x8. Posters are matt only. None of them are in the free allowance.
