Guide

6x4 free print size, in inches and centimetres.

A 6x4 is six inches by four inches, or 15x10cm. That is the free size on FreePrints and the standard free size on Snapfish UK.

Why free prints are almost always 6x4

It is the print that fits a UK pocket album, a fridge magnet and the cheap frames on a supermarket aisle. Labs can run them in bulk. That is how a monthly free credit stays cheap for the company and useful for you.

Snapfish also allows a 5.3x4 on the same free credit. Collages and gifts are out. FreePrints keeps the free line to 6x4 only; 7x5 and the rest are paid.

Crop before you spend the credit

Phone photos are often 4:3 or tall 9:16. A 6x4 is 3:2. If you do not crop, the lab will. Faces at the edge disappear. Do that in the app, then pay postage — from £1.49 on FreePrints.
