Free prints planner.
You have a camera roll. Two UK apps will print 95 of it a month for postage only. Type the number and see how to split it, what the postage comes to, what to do with the rest, and when paying a lab is honestly the better call.
95 free this month, 25 left over. Wait 1 more month and they are free too, or pay a lab for the rest now.

Credits reset on the 1st. Your pile is done in 2 months for about £5.96–£16.96 total postage, nothing per print.

Free packets plus the cheapest paid option: £6.97–£17.97 for all 120 this month.
Honest check
Skipping the free apps and sending all 120 to Snapfish UK (10p–20p a print, posted) would cost £13.49–£28.49 against £6.97–£17.97 for the free-first plan this month. The free route wins on money; the bulk lab wins on one delivery and no monthly wait.
Postage bands from FreePrints (£1.49–£3.99, free at 13 collection towns) and Snapfish (£1.49–£4.49) as published; paid prices from the price comparison. The apps’ baskets are the real totals.
How the plan is built
- The first 45 photos go to FreePrints: 6x4, glossy or matt, one free print per photo, postage £1.49–£3.99 or free at a collection point.
- The next 50 go to the Snapfish UK app: 6x4 or 5.3x4, postage £1.49–£4.49, credit expires at month end.
- Anything left is priced at every lab in our comparison with the free credits switched off, and the three cheapest firm totals are shown.
- The whole pile is also priced at the single cheapest paid lab, so the planner can tell you when the apps are the wrong tool.
Tips before you upload
- Phone photos are 4:3; a 6x4 is 3:2. Check the crop in the app or use our crop checker first.
- Order on the 1st or 2nd of the month if you are spreading a pile: the credits reset then, and you get the most months in.
- Both apps accept Google Photos, so you do not have to move files to the phone first.
- Live codes only apply to paid prints. The free 95 need no code.
Questions
How many free prints can I get a month in the UK?
95: 45 from FreePrints and 50 from the Snapfish UK app, both 6x4". You pay postage on each packet — £1.49–£3.99 and £1.49–£4.49 — or collect the FreePrints ones free in 13 towns.
Can I use FreePrints and Snapfish at the same time?
Yes. They are different companies with separate allowances. Upload the first 45 photos to FreePrints and the next 50 to Snapfish. Neither app knows about the other.
What if I have more than 95 photos?
Either wait for the credits to reset on the 1st and do another 95, or pay a lab for the remainder. Under about 200 leftover prints the apps still win on cost; at 200+ Tesco and ASDA drop to 15p then 9p a print with free collect and a single trip usually beats months of packets.
Do free prints include duplicates?
FreePrints gives one free print per photo; a second copy of the same shot is paid. Snapfish’s credit is 50 prints regardless. If you want two of everything, send the duplicates to Snapfish.
Is it really cheaper than just paying?
For most people, yes: 95 prints for roughly £3–£8.50 in postage is 3p–9p a print, which no paid lab matches below 500 prints. The planner shows the paid alternative every time so you can see when it isn’t.
